cold enough

i am bundled up in thick furry clothing as i walk along an icy tundra of an Antarctica-esque body of frozen water with my dog. i have a long yellow leash on her and everything is electric blue and brilliant white. i stop walking and i hear a really loud voice within that says Don't Stop, keep going! I don't listen to it and all around me the ice begins to crack. I watch with curiosity until the voice yells Go! Run! So I begin to run and once I get far enough away from the area, I stop again. This time the ice immediately begins to fall away beneath me and as I slip and slide backing out, I am pulled into its whirlwind collapse. Not letting go of the leash, I pull my canine companion in with me. I am pulled out of my body and watch from above the cascade of ice fall apart as she struggles to get out. Immobilized by the cold water, she pulls herself to the edge. Three beings appear. I am pulled back into the body in the water. One of the beings is a little girl, she twirls up to the edge, pulls my dog out and wishes me luck. The other two are standing there looking at me, asking me if I am cold enough. Their mannerism is very nonchalant about the whole thing and they say that if I've had enough cold, they will pull me out. I bob with the freezing water, both hands on top of the thick ice, holding me above water and say nothing, contemplating my temperature. Then I wake up.
