Contrasting the eleven-year-apart "Nigh Train" dreams

I have already written on the later version, but I thought I'd compare and contrast one of the first versions years prior (but not THE first). I'll take this time to do this, as my wife found an old notebook page with one of the old versions on it.

1979:

Elements before this version led up to references to the song "Night Train", that I used to perform when much younger, this being the version with the line "Night Train, that took my baby so far away" and "Night Train, your whistle tore my heart in two" (personal reference to a two mirrored to a two making the heart on a plane symbol - when the heart on a plane symbol is divided, the number two is left on the right).

The number 1813 appeared as a locomotive number. The only meaningful reference (at the time) is the year when Tecumseh died. The original connection was answering my wife's mother's advertisement on information on Tecumseh in a local newspaper that somehow ended up all the way in Australia (there were precognitive dreams on this which I'll probably get into later on). That same day I had written to a girl, Z_H_ in Hungary (even though my "dream girl" was associated with both Australian and Hungarian Roma scenes), with the same "unusual name" (unheard of in Western regions) as my wife (and the same age at the time, 22); I had no realistic idea the "real" Z_H_ was the daughter of that person (who had a completely different surname), but she (my wife) wrote to me first, saying she felt an unusual energy and familiarity (we had never made any real-life contact prior to 1991). It's kind of hilarious really, the Z_H_ in Hungary never wrote back (and it's possible she wasn't Roma, either or ever used the anglicized version of her first name as my wife does), perhaps not even knowing English (although the pen pal advertisement was in the same English publication associated with the other events).

Knowing the power of hidden fractals (and the chaotic "background noise" of the universe which isn't nearly as random as people would like to believe), I researched the name of the "other" (who I had "left behind" on my life's path in my youth) and found someone with the exact same name who married someone with my (not-so-common) surname. That was pretty strange for me. I could get more into the details, but don't want to reveal all the exact names for now because of the other parties involved.

My real wife wrote a romance story called "Reflections" which she still has but has never published. My "dream girl" had also written a story of that name (as again revealed in this version) - but is more a part of a different dream I have not included in any online journal but will likely go into later on.

It was good to find this old document (especially the hilarity of "fictional girl"), as I was able to find some more information I had not considered for a long time. "Little Red Feather" was stored with other items I kept until young adulthood, including a black-eyed Susan berry I had kept from when I was about seven years old. I believe these are also called "never-wake-up berries".

I had also completely forgotten about the wooden and with red ribbons Jacob's ladder toy I used to mess around with quite often and eventually drew symbols on (which was mentioned in the document).

In the original notepaper document, I had also mentioned the film version of Ambrose Bierce's "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" / "La rivière du hibou" - 1962 (which I saw in English class in ninth grade). The scene at the end had a strange personal connection to the Barbara Steele movie "Castle of Blood" ("Danza macabra") - 1964. In both films, the main male character dies after making contact with his "dream girl". In the first, he had been dreaming all along and when the girl touches him, he is hanged in real life. In the second, the girl (who was a vampiric ghost) rescues him by showing him out of the castle and he wants her to come with him - but she eventually sinks into the ground where her grave is, but he is still killed (after thinking he has fully escaped) after he gets out - from the gate closing on him. This is quite different from the "Bermuda Depths" personal archetype - where the man goes back to his "normal" life after leaving the dream girl behind where she continues to live in the depths of the ocean.

1990 (precognitive "replays" of the older dream):

This was the year I had left on a desk in my apartment (with a sense of guilt) an 1813 railroad watch given to me by a relative (now worth a fair amount of money), which was later stolen by an unknown individual - relating to a sort of precognitive perception of the earlier dream version, which had the 1813 locomotive, also Tecumseh's year of death.

No reference to the "Night Train" song.

In this later one, Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) being a conductor is a likely reference to Australia or communicating with Australia.

This was one of the few dreams I've had that included sepia tones in some scenes.

There was far more of a nostalgic feeling in this dream (even though the original had nostalgia).

This one was connected to a very strange sequence of precognitive patterns later on after contact with my wife relating to a copy of the first version, one being me changing "Night Rain" (wife's mother's pseudonym) to "Nigh Train" and then shortly getting an unsolicited letter with a drawing of a train on the back saying "The coming of the Lord is nigh". Precognitive continuation of conscious alterations of ideas and word forms was very common during this time (still is, really). This one, though, actually startled me and at least one other person for a day or so even though I'm not Christian. I realized it was more likely just a personal confirmation as had happened thousands of times before and NOT a sign (as others believed) that the world would end on either our marriage day or the day after my birthday (12-20), such endlessly irritating rubbish I'd been hearing since around twelve years of age (along with other rubbish relating to astrology, possibly the bane of human existence) and coming into a non-event in the supposed year of such, December 21st 2012, when, as I expected, nothing happened. I feel sorry for the majority of people at times, especially when even mainstream media is so full of nonsensical fabricated garbage in these times. I never believed my "end of the world" dreams were literal (even though many others were).

Both:

Both had images of "Little Red Feather" coming to life, both an imaginary friend of my wife's when she was little, and the name of a plastic toy I had in my childhood from E. Wutke. Oddly, my early childhood dreams often made a "false memory" of Little Red Feather - showing him in a kneeling praying position rather than the actual kneeling with bow and arrow position. In real life, a "string" (being thin plastic) from the bow had broken.

There was a sense of spiritual emergence and "soul rekindling" in both. The trains in each dream were beginning to run again, full of rust, but eventually moving forward.

It was the Black River that had lowered in both although the 1979 version had more references to the Mississippi, although it states that the Black River lowers and it is like a return to the 1800s. In reality, I'm fairly sure there was no railroad under the Mississippi river, ha (at least not near where I lived).

In real life, there was an old locomotive on display at the park I used to play in, in La Crosse. I had my photo taken there a few times (most childhood photos are with relatives in the USA).

In the writing from the old version (this written on notebook paper - as commercial dream journals and diaries were way too small to write all the detail in, even when I somehow managed to fit four lines where one was supposed to be), note I used to use the "regular" letter "a" in my writing, when later on (young adulthood), I used the "hooked a" as it appears in book print - otherwise my writing hasn't changed all that much.

In a version older than the first one here, the rains came and covered the railroad again, causing the Black River to flow again - seemingly causing the people and trains to go into "suspended animation" (rather than the people dying).

The theme of a river or lake drying up to reveal something old or supposedly ancient underneath has occurred in several other dreams including one where a statue of Christ came to life.

Coincidentally, there was a "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode in 1994, called "Emergence" (one of the original titles for these dreams being "Emergence") that used vaguely similar ideas from the earlier dreams. It related to a new lifeform coming from the imaging of a railroad scenario through the holodeck to reach their new or intended home.
