Morning of November 5, 1970. Thursday.

This was briefly recurring and I finally was able to get some of these mysterious anchors in the last versions of the dream (mostly because Wayne did not appear at all in later versions). I was in fourth grade at the time and the only other character besides me was Wayne - a chubby male classmate.

Although Wayne had never been to Wisconsin and I had not lived in the location of the dream for a few years, it takes place on the eastern side of the Black River in La Crosse (north-side) near the boat ramp, a part of the Mississippi River.

There had been a severe storm from the north which somehow caused a lot of valuable, mysterious anchors to be washed up over the boat ramp area and near the beach. The original (childhood journal) title of this was “I found it”, which I guess really does not make that much sense as a more obvious title, but it is said in the dream by Wayne upon the discovery of the first intriguing anchor (even though I seem to arrive in the area before him). I want to keep all of these anchors for myself and perhaps sell some to make money but Wayne claims that they are all his, possibly due to the "finders keepers losers weepers" mentality which justifies actual childhood theft, it seems. There is no clue as to where the anchors came from - some are very old and some have more of a fishhook-like design. I guess I would call this a “search dream” as there is a point where I try to locate some that Wayne had not found yet. There is a sense of frustration which actually colored my mood on days when I had the dream. We were not friends in real life, though he was not what I would call a bully; just a somewhat annoying, somewhat pushy character. The value of the anchors seems more related to that of a potential “rare” treasure rather than any sort of reward for recovery/salvage.
