Sentient Flood

Morning of January 7, 1990. Sunday.

I am in La Crosse, but it seems different, even seemingly near the ocean at one point (possibly from memories of Florida) or at least the Mississippi seems bigger and more dominant a feature of the region. Water is rising over a long bridge. It seems the whole region is threatened by rising flood waters that are somewhat "relentless" in that the forces almost seem "intelligent" or possibly controlled by a "higher being" of some kind. There is an eerie mood in my dream and I and others are always moving away from areas that become flooded, almost as if the waters are "in pursuit" of us. It mostly seems nighttime throughout my dream.

We end up going down into a basement-like area that also serves as a post office, reminding me of a composite of the Arcadia post office and the one in La Crosse. The flood waters are raging and come down the steps (vaguely reminiscent of a scene from "The Blob" from 1958) with a human-like vengeance. At this point, I am becoming more frustrated than afraid. I stop and boldly ask the raging flood waters that threaten to fill the post-office/basement area "What about the children?"

The stream of raging water moves up and back almost like a hand (about to slap someone, but also in a sort of odd "puzzlement" at my audacity) and then moves back up the steps literally in reverse. A little later, I and the others exit the building and look around, noting that the flood waters have receded, leaving only a few puddles here and there in the mostly featureless landscape.

The silhouette of a religious statue, which seems to be Christ, can be seen to the south. A dark-haired female approaches it and it begins to glow and come to life as I wake, with several other people then encircling it. I hear music in my dream (by Enya - "Shepard Moons" - which was not even released until November 4, 1991 in the UK) I did not hear in reality until my wife sent it on a cassette tape.

This dream (along with hundreds of others) had several layers of precognition and yet-to-be associations. I did not make contact with my twin flame until about a year later in 1991 and our oldest son's birthday is January 7. I was living in La Crosse when I received my first letter from her although the PAIA newspaper through which I "met" her was sent to me from Arcadia - note that where I "make my stand" as a sort of "final confrontation" of the raging flood is in this post office composite - and the "basement" of the subconscious with the flood being the supraconscious or collective mind of humanity integrated with seemingly higher forces - it was as if I "knew" what was to come a year beforehand including the birth of our first son (although hundreds of childhood dreams also seemed to build up precisely to much of it). Dream work has always been interesting for me since earliest memory (even as a toddler). Although I am really not a Christian, this dream used more of a "divine" feeling of energy and outcome (and implying viable paranormal forces) than that of many actual Christian's dreams (irony here). It represented my as-yet-unknown upcoming contact with my yet-to-be wife, another advance into heightened understanding of the world - the supraconscious layer being more visible for me, and marriage and family during a time when it seemed extraordinarily unlikely for me in every way.

I find it interesting how the energies of dreams can be bland and distorted (and near-meaningless) at times and highly vivid and incredibly important at other times, just as with human thought itself, by pure logic, really, in the manner of a typical waveform. I have still not fully divided the different dream types into specific categories. From being solely manifested by physical position or environmental sounds (and obviously with no "message" of any kind as such) to heightened awareness and genuine prophecy as well as very precise remote viewing, it is just one other layer of existence that many people never seem to touch upon at all. It is too bad that dreams are still not a subject that society takes seriously in any way (especially the pathetic media), with most publications and in-print ideas being wrongfully systematic by consensus (such as primarily pointless commercial "dream dictionaries").
