I was rehearsing a play in a large cabin in winter. My role was to play an elderly, but spunky, librarian. The rehearsals were awesome (I was improving, my acing/singing was great/etc) but when it came time for the actual performance, first I couln't find a costume to wear downstairs (which was the backstage) so I made one up at the last minute and came out, but then I couldn't entirely remember my lines for scene 1.
The scene ended, and I ran downstairs for the intermission to find a better costume. After finally getting it together (including a crazy-looking wig that was different that the one I had planned to wear), I heard the opening song of the play start, and a narrator reading my lines because I was too late.
I ran out to take on my role, remembered the first few lines, but then forgot the rest, tried to improv a bit, but then it seemed the whole play had sort of fallen into a somewhat chaotic ending anyway, so everyone (including the audience) was singing the closing song.
We then noticed that the middle section of the cabin was flooding with thawing water. The cabin sort of dissolved, and everyone was joyously staring around what seemed to be the beginning of a river that was flowing towards Boston (where I livein real life) - as if the frozen river just rose-up from ground, the circling out and spiraling out ina circular area (like a reverse whirlpool), had frozen for the winter, and was now thawing early.
Everyone seemed happy and relieved that the river was thawing, all hugging and congratulating eachother in a U-shaped curve around it's banks and down either side.
I was standing in front of the giant Gateway to Boston arch (that is visible to ships in the oceans), watching this river thaw, and the fellow next to me told me that we were at the highest point of coastline in the world. This was very exciting to hear, as I returned my gaze to the frozen waves of river now thawing and rushing along it's riverbed towards Boston.
