The Moon, Trouble & Truth.

Have you heard about the moon recently? Yes, recently. Why would you hear it recently? Well, not because it is the last lesson you had from Astronomy, but because of its sudden popularity in both Muggle and Wizarding conversations.

On March 19, 2011, the moon, as we know it, is about to circle our planet at a close distance of 221,567 miles or 356,577 kilometers. Rumors have been spreading throughout the muggle community at an alarming rate. Rumors say, that the planet is bound to be face a massive number of disaster and catastrophic events such as violent storms, raging volcanic eruptions, and brutal earthquakes...
Well, that is at least what the muggles believe.

Worry not! None of that is real! The Quibbler, due to our extreme popularity and reliability, we have earned quite a huge number of fans and sources of course. And one of our sources luckily witnessed the real reason for all this fuss. You will hear it first from Quibbler, and only from Quibbler.

Our trusted source, whose name is to be kept confidential for security reason, reported that a certain group of Dark Wizard Cult are out to do some serious trouble on March 19. They were heard talking about their plan to use "Engorgio" on the moon, to obviously, enlarge the moon for their benefit. You see, these dark wizard cults normally cause trouble & mischiefs during night time, the darkness buying them more cover and stealth from the authorities. However, the dim light seem to make it even harder for them look for a place where to cause havoc. This brought them to the idea of maximizing the moon.

In conclusion, if the moon grows and give more lighting than normal, these Dark Wizard Cult would then be able to cause trouble. Trouble, which the muggles believe to be natural disasters caused by the closeness of the moon.

Earlier this day, I have sent letters for interview to both the Head of Divination Department and Head of Astronomy Department, from the historical school of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, seeking for their stand in this issue. Let's see if their knowledge would agree with each other or otherwise.

The following quotes are from my interview with the Head of Astronomy Department, Professor Sydney Travers.

What does the Astronomy Department think about the said "Super Moon" event?

"Oh, we are just thrilled about this event. The last Super Moon did occur last year. However, this Super Moon will be the closest the Moon has been to Earth in around 18 years. So it should be a very interesting, and unique experience. I highly recommend that everyone get out there and watch."

Is there anything to worry about during the said day?

"No, No don't be silly. There is always the speculation that a Super Moon has the ability to cause Natural Disasters, but I must say that this is highly impossible unless the Disaster occurs on the actual date of the Super Moon.
[In reference to current events in Japan] The Earth's Moon is on a Monthly Orbital Period and there is only one day where it is at it's fullest. Even though for about six days before, the Moon looks to be full, it isn't until the exact day. This month, the Moon will be fullest on the 19th, not the 11th so there is simple nothing to worry about. "

Is there anything you would like to tell/clarify to/for the public?

"Again, so to let everyone know there is not going to be any sort of disaster tomorrow to fret about, everything will be fine.
I will advise everyone to just, get out side for the event. Go and take a blanket to the Secret Garden or the Astronomy Observatory and just watch this event take place. It is just going to be spectacular, and who knows when the Moon will be this close again? We should all take advantage, and really experience this Super Moon for all it's worth!!"

As for the Head of Divination Department, I'am still waiting for approval, but for the mean time...

The Quibbler calls out for the authorities to immediately apprehend the perpetrators and put their heinous intention to a halt!

We would also want to warn everyone to beware of "lycans" who are expected to roam around the streets, we believe that the larger moon would transform them more vicious and powerful than they normally are.
The Quibbler staff, wishes everyone safety during the date of the said event. Good luck!
