take back the nun

this dream is set in high school, so as usual it takes place against a backdrop of me being late for class, forgetting about class, skipping class, and/or showing up to the wrong class. but while all of this is going on, the school is gearing-up for their annual rally for some cause or another, and everyone is trying to come up with the theme, to be decided-on by vote.

there are a few themes banging about concerning interracial harmony, music awareness, safe driving, etc. of course, i think my idea is the best, though it doesn't get very good reception:

my idea is a rally to "take back the nun", a campaign of awareness encouraging folks to be able to use the word "nun" in a non-catholic context. Furthermore, encouraging the acceptable practice of the use of nun jokes, nun caricatures, and generally making fun of nuns in everyday conversation without the accompanying feelings of guilt. i'm not serious, of course - this is an intentionally sarcastic and humorous campaign - but i do earnestly believe that "take back the nun" would be the best theme for this year's rally.

As the school day goes on and i continue to miss various classes, i become increasingly frustrated at the lack of support for my idea, which i think is brilliant, but gets little more than nervous chuckles from my peers.
