I am walking down a snowy street. I just came out of an awful blizzard that I was unsure I would escape from. Beside me walk my two dogs Lily and Skye. I know my house is not far. Ahead, I see two young black fox whom do not realize that we are there. I stop, the dogs stopping with me, and I take out my iPod. I try to take a picture of them. I get one good shot, but the second photo is blurred. The foxes disappear around the corner, the view blocked by a snow covered, white, willow tree. I continue walking, iPod still at the ready to get another good picture of them. When we emerge around the corner, I see the foxes down my street stop and look at us, cautious . They look so beautiful, standing out against the snowy street. I can see large flakes of heavy snow falling between us. I try take a picture, but my Beagle Lily howls and spooks them off. She wants to give chase, but I snatch her collar and don't let her run after them. I watch them go, and then walk both dogs by their collars down the block until we reach my house. [End]

Dreammoods Definitions:
Fox - To see a fox in your dream represents insight, cleverness, cunningness and resourcefulness. Perhaps the dream is telling you that you need to exhibit more of these qualities in your waking life. Or that you need to conceal your thoughts and be more discrete about some situation. The fox may also symbolize someone in your waking life who is sly and sneaky. Alternatively, seeing a fox in your dream indicates a period of isolation or loneliness. You need to take this time to ponder some issue or reflect upon your life.
Black Dog - (I know it doesn't really fit, but it was as close as I could come to black foxes). To see a black colored dog in your dream symbolizes the shadow aspect of a friend. The dark side of someone close to you is being revealed and you are able to see through to their true intentions.
Blizzard - To dream about a blizzard suggests that you are feeling emotionally cold and frigid. You feel excluded and left out. It may indicate a lack of love and the absence of warmth within your own family circle.
Snow - To dream that you are watching the snow fall represents a clean start and a fresh, new perspective. It is indicative of spiritual peace and tranquility.
My Analysis: Okay, based on what I've learned from Dreammoods and also the mood that this dream gave me, I kind of feel like the foxes represent love in some way. Black dogs represent seeing a dark side of your friend, so maybe, seeing the two black fox in my dream symbolizes the darkness I feel/see in love right now. Blizzard means lack of love and feeling excluded, which fits for me. I feel/felt left out.
So, emerging from a period in my life that I felt abandoned and left out, I see the lies and deceitfulness in love, though I still find love beautiful. Love seems to always be far away and out of my capture, but now it does not make me feel sad nor devastated. I'm okay watching the foxes go through the falling snow, through my "clean and fresh start", and it does not pain me. I have been experiencing a positive feeling of a new beginning lately.
So, in a nutshell, I am at peace with not having love, because not only do I see the darker side of it, but also I've just emerged from a troubling time in my life and am heading into a fresh start.
Dreammoods doesn't always get it right, but I'd say those definitions certainly hit the nail on the head this time! Then again, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" - Sigmund Freud.
A common symbol for the devil during the Middle Ages, expressive of
base attitudes and of the wiles of the adversary (20).

In China, fox animal symbolism revolved around the afterlife. Lore has it that a fox sighting was thought to be a signal from the spirits of the deceased.
Fox animal symbolism takes a turn of intelligence in the Celtic realm, as the Celts believed the fox to be a guide, and was honored for its wisdom. The Celts understood the fox knows the woods intimately, and they would rely upon the fox as their guide in the spirit world.
In Japan, the fox was considered one of the rain spirits, and a messenger of Inari the rice god. Here the fox also symbolizes longevity and protection from evil.
In Native American lore, fox animal symbolism deals with two interpretations. One perspective (Northern tribes) observes the fox as a wise and noble messenger. The other (Plains tribes) views the fox as a trickster playing pranks, or worse - luring one to demise.
Overwhelmingly, cultural consensus on fox animal symbolism deals with:
cunning

It is noteworthy to observe the fox while it is on the hunt. We see its entire body is pointed like an arrow - straight and tightly aimed. This is a symbolic message for us to set a determined, and powerfully focused mindset in order to "hit the target" of our desires.

It should be obvious from this summary that fox animal symbolism goes far beyond what we may see on the surface. On the contrary, the fox has an incredible amount of knowledge and wisdom to share with us if/when we are willing to be still for the teachings.
The Fox is symbolic of Cunning, agility, quick-wittedness, diplomacy, wildness, feminine magic of camouflage, shape shifting and invisibility The most prominent characteristic of the fox is its ability to become one with its environment, The fox is a very observant and fast animal, ready to take action at any time. Its power lies in its cleverness-for example, when leading its enemies astray. Another characteristic is its concern for its family. People who possess the power of the fox are usually quiet observers and are skilled at remaining unnoticed. This means that they blend into their environment, moving around unnoticed in any kind of company and society. They are masters of camouflage. The fox teaches how to grasp concept of unity and how to use this knowledge wisely on all levels.
This animal represents patience - the ability to wait for the right moment to act.

Traditional symbols of love always express a duality in which the two
antagonistic elements are, nevertheless, reconciled. Thus, the Indian lingam, the Yang-Yin, or even the Cross, where the upright beam is the world-axis and Chinese
the cross-beam the world of phenomena. They are, in other words, symbols of a
conjunction, or the expression of the ultimate goal of true love: the elimination of
dualism and separation, uniting them in the mystic ‘centre’, the ‘unvarying mean’
of Far Eastern philosophy. The rose, the lotus flower, the heart, the irradiating
point—these are the most frequent symbols of this hidden centre; ‘hidden’ because it does not exist in space, although it is imagined as doing so, but denotes the
state achieved through the elimination of separation. The biological act of love
itself expresses this desire to die in the object of the desire, to dissolve in that
which is already dissolved. According to the Book of Baruch: ‘Erotic desire and
its satisfaction is the key to the origin of the world. Disappointment in love and
the revenge which follows in its wake are the root of all the evil and the selfishness
in this world. The whole of history is the work of love. Beings seek and find one
another; separate and hurt one another; and in the end, comes acute suffering
which leads to renunciation.’ Or to put it another way: Maya as opposed to
Lilith, illusion balanced by the serpent.

Mystics have always traditionally considered the feminine aspect of
the universe as a chest, a house or a wall, as well as an enclosed garden. Another
symbolic association is that which equates the house (and the above, related
forms) with the repository of all wisdom, that is, tradition itself (4). In architectural symbolism, on the other hand, the house carries not only an overall symbolism but also particular associations attached to each of its component parts.
Nevertheless, the house as a home arouses strong, spontaneous associations with
the human body and human thought (or life, in other words), as has been confirmed empirically by psychoanalysts. Ania Teillard explains this by pointing
out that, in dreams, we employ the image of the house as a representation of the
different layers of the psyche. The outside of the house signifies the outward
appearance of Man: his personality or his mask. The various floors are related to
the vertical and spatial symbols. The roof and upper floor correspond to the head
and the mind, as well as to the conscious exercise of self-control. Similarly, the
basement corresponds to the unconscious and the instincts (just as sewers do, in
symbols pertaining to the city). The kitchen, since this is where foodstuff is
transformed, sometimes signifies the place or the moment of psychic transmutation in the alchemical sense. The intercommunicating rooms speak for themselves. The stairs are the link between the various planes of the psyche, but their
particular significance depends upon whether they are seen as ascending or descending. Finally, there is, as we have said, the association of the house with the
human body, especially regarding its openings, as was well understood by
Artemidorus Daldianus (56).
To see a house in your dream, represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic represents your intellect, the basement represents the unconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. If the house is shifting, then it suggests that you are going through some personal changes and changing your belief system. To dream that a house has no walls, represents a lack of privacy. You feel that everyone is looking over your shoulder or up in your business.
To dream that you are cleaning your house, signifies your need to clear out your thoughts and get rid of old ways. You are seeking self-improvement.
If you live with others in your waking life, but dream that you are living alone, suggests that you need to take new steps toward independence. You need to accept responsibilities and be more self-reliant.
To see an old, run-down house in your dream, represents your old beliefs, attitudes and how you used to think or feel. A situation in your current life may be bringing about those same old attitudes and feelings. Alternatively, the old house may symbolize your need to update you mode of thinking. To dream that your house is damaged, indicates your waking concerns about the condition of your house.
To see a new house in your dream, indicates that you are entering into a new phase or new area in your life. You are becoming more emotionally mature. If you are locked out of the house, then it represents rejection and insecurity. You feel you are being left behind.

Alternatively, it indicates that some unconscious material is attempting to make itself known. There are some aspects of yourself that you have denied.
To dream of a haunted house, signifies unfinished emotional business, related to your childhood family, dead relatives, or repressed memories and feelings.

Either way, if you pay attention to the details in this dream, you may learn a thing or two about yourself.
An emblem of purity, used in Christian—and particularly mediaeval—
iconography as a symbol and attribute of the Virgin Mary (46). It is often depicted standing in a vase or jar, which is, in its turn, a symbol of the female
principle. Félix de Rosnay, in Le Chrisme, les lys et le symbolisme de Paray
(Lyon, 1900), points to the connexion between the fleur-de-lis, in respect of the
symbolism of its form, and the chrism or cross of St. Andrew intersected by the
rho, and the ancient cross of the Aeduan Gauls (a cross with a vertical line traced
through the centre), which is quite clearly a symbol of inversion; it was worn on
the sword-guard. The lily, in Byzantium and among the Christianized Franks,
was a sign of royalty
