I am in a house, in a kitchen. I see my high school classmates Alexia and Toby are happy together, cuddling and laughing. I am the third wheel. So, I leave the room and look for my other friends Mary and Cory. I look through the living room and bedrooms, and eventually find Cory. He tells me to run, and that he'll meet me outside. I do as he says and get outside into the creepy dark front yard. The only light is the light coming from the porch. I wait, but he doesn't come. I start to wonder if something went wrong. If maybe he's waiting for me in some other area. I look around for him, and end up walking under these branchy, dark, creepy trees that lead to the back yard. I feel like the trees could reach down and grab me with their branches, though it never happens. I get the feeling something is following me. I dash to the back door, where Cory's dad is screwing in wooden poles horizontally across the door to hang up dish clothes. I awkwardly get down on my back and slide under the bars, avoiding the dog poo that is just outside the door. He looks at me strangely and I just politely say excuse me to get by. I charge toward Cory's room, and find him in the top bunk of his bunk bed. I wake him up and tell him off, extremely angry with him for "standing me up" and leaving me out there in the scary dark. The younger boy in the bottom bunk is also startled awake, but I don't care. He starts to give me an excuse, but I don't want to hear it. [End]
