Buying Skye at the Lake

Mom, Dad, and I are going to the lake to buy a puppy. I’m wearing a baggy grey sweater and black tights. I’m very excited to meet my new dog, which I’ve decided will be named Skye.
We reach the campsite where a man sits behind a desk with his back to a sand dune wall. I tell him who I am, and he goes over to the sand wall. He digs through the sand a little bit, digging out my poor puppy who was trapped in a make-shift minicave the man used as cages. He could have been burried alive, or suffocated. The man hands me the puppy, seemingly seeing nothing wrong with what I just saw. Skye is sticky all over, like the remnants of a bandaid. Sand stuck in this stickiness and made Skye very dirty and miserable. A teenage boy comes over to me, tall and slender with freckles and light hair, and he helps me get all of the sand off. Two younger boys, the helpful teen’s brothers, pet Skye and I tell them I’ll be right back with the money for him.
I go to another campsite, leaving Skye with the boys, to get a two-hundred dollar loan. Instead, I accidentally say that I’m looking for a dog. The man there tries to give me another dog, like Skye but with more black and larger. I apologize to the old man and explain that the words came out wrong. I ask him from whom can I get a two-hundred dollar loan from.
A darker-haired teenage boy leads me to a school building gloomily lit with sparse purple and yellow lights. The classrooms form a ring around a spiral staircase in the center of the building. We walk up the staircase, on the fifth floor we go to a room with a man who tells me I need to get something from the receptionist downstairs before I can be loaned money.
Me and the boy race back to the staircase and down the stairs. I’m a better racer than he, but he has a clear head stair on me. I make up a lot of ground, but I know it won’t be enough to beat him.
I try to close the gap by jumping down the staircase rather than running it, which is a dangerous choice but I figure that I can catch my hands on something and break my fall. I leap down, and I grasp for his hand while he’s on the green level, which is the second to last level. My grip slips right through. I desperately grasp for the yellow level’s railing, but by then I’m to close to the ground and the catch does nothing to slow my decent. I die from the fall. [End]
