The Walking Dead!Verse

I am with Leon at Granny’s house in the zombie apocalypse [The Walking Dead universe]. It’s dark, with no power to the house naturally- and it is night. I cuddle up to his leg, and he wants to lay down in bed. I tell him we shouldn’t sleep at the same time, for security reasons. He also wants to play music out of some speakers, but I stop him to keep him from attracting walkers. I think that even the lamp that lights up the house in a gloomy glow is to much of a risk. However, I keep it lit because I know that if the others in our group which we got separated from see the light, they’ll know where we are. I set a silent alarm on my iPod for thirty minutes so me and Leon can switch watch. I figure thirty minutes of sleep at a time is enough.
My dad and his girlfriend Kelly return, and me and dad play chess. We’re both down to a few pieces. I change a pawn for a queen, and think that I have the upper hand. What I didn’t notice is that he did the same exact thing while I wasn’t paying attention and checkmates me before I can react. I get so upset that I lost that I get teary eyed. I really thought I was going to win.
We all lay down to sleep in the living room [which is now the living room of my dad’s house]. Leon isn’t here. Kelly leaves Christmas lights on on the tree, and because of a short fuse the tree ignites with flame. I have to put it out alone- without the help of Kelly nor Dad who both refuse to help. I barely get it out by blowing on it profusely. I take the still red-hot fuse/wire, and dunk it in a pale of water that I didn’t notice until now.
[The house becomes my aunt in uncles] A few members of our party of returned- Rick, Michonne, Rosita and a few others. They received a text from Maggie- who is with Beth and Daryl. Maggie’s text says that Daryl is dead. Me and another girl are upset. We both care about Daryl a lot- and this news is just devastating. However, we have gotten false alarms of Daryl’s death like this before, and Daryl turned out to be alive. Neither of us believe that Daryl is dead- not yet. Still, I go to the bathroom to sob.
The window of the bathroom is replaced with wicker doors that go all the way from the floor to the ceiling, which lead to a tiny, unsafe balcony overlooking the ocean. I get the sense that this house is my Dad’s ocean-side vacation home.
In ancient times [which plays out before me like it’s happening now], warriors stormed the city at the edge of the water- demolishing it into the rubble that it now is. They had battle axes and war hammers- which are possibly still down there if you snorkel the ruins for them.
I become part of the history/reenactment, as a raiding warrior struggling to climb up the mud cliff that lines the shore. No matter how hard I try- even using my spear to try and gain some leverage- I keep slipping back down this wet muddy ridge. [End]
