Setting Up the TV

I’m sitting on my uncle’s couch with Mom, my uncle, and two elderly women. We’re trying to set something up on the TV. It’s a really simple thing to set up, but the elderly women are insistent on doing it themselves. All that needs to be done is selecting about seven items out of a list that’s no longer than nine items. The blue link-like items have to be selected from the top down, skipping the third to last and the last one. They select the items in the wrong order over and over, making us start over every time. It’s incredibly frustrating because if they would just slow down and take their time, they wouldn’t be accidentally selecting the items out of order.
It happens so many times that I eventually resort to bribing the one holding the remote, saying that if she slows down and gets it right on the very next time she tries- I’ll give her a candy bar. She asks me what kind of candy bar, and I tell her any kind she wants.
She still doesn’t do it right. [End]
